A managed educational service
How it works
Every family joins The Fourth House carefully.
Before your child’s first session, we take the time to understand them properly. Here is exactly what that looks like.
01
You reach out. We respond personally.
Free · 20 minutes
When you contact us, you hear from a person, not a form, not an automated reply. We will be in touch within 24 hours to arrange a brief introductory call at a time that suits you.
02
An introduction to The Fourth House
A short, relaxed conversation about how we work and what makes us different. There is no obligation. If it feels like the right fit for your family, we arrange your child’s assessment. If it is not the right moment, that is fine too.
We tutor in maths, English and science, with languages available on request.
03
Before anything begins, we understand your child properly.
The G.L.O.W. assessment · £45
We review your child’s last three school reports before we speak. Then we spend time in conversation with you, looking carefully at four things: their Groundwork (where they stand academically and where the gaps are), how they Learn, their sense of Ownership over their own education (including homework and revision), and their Wellbeing within the school environment. Within 48 hours, you receive a written report on what we believe your child needs.
04
A recommendation built around your child, not a menu.
Within 48 hours of your assessment
We do not ask you to choose from a list. Based on everything we have learned, we send you a personal proposal naming your child, describing what we found, and recommending a specific membership with a clear reason. When you are ready to proceed, your membership begins immediately.
05
The right tutor. Not just any tutor.
Within 3 days
We match carefully: on the subject, on your child’s personality, on how they learn. Within three days, you receive a personal message introducing your tutor by name and explaining exactly why we have chosen them for your child. Before anything begins, you and your child meet them briefly, so you can feel completely certain.
06
A welcome that feels like one.
You receive a personal welcome letter, access to your private parent portal, your term schedule with every session date, and a clear guide to what the first month looks like. Guided and Complete families also receive a full year contact calendar at this point: every check-in, every progress update, and every key date mapped out before the first session takes place.
07
We are watching carefully from the very first session.
In their first session, your child’s tutor carries out a structured G.L.O.W. observation. Their findings are in your portal.
Tutoring is at the heart of what we do. But it is only the beginning.
